Brief de Design de Logo

This will be the logo for a community theatrical company called "Medicine Hat Firehall Theatre Society" The logo can be a pictorial, wordmark or both. The current logo (link attached) is no longer relevant, and no part of the logo should be reused or rehashed, so this is a 'from the ground up' project. Artist integrity and ability to conform to the project brief will be required.

This logo will be launched with a new website project for the company, and thus different variations will be needed (Horizontal, vertical, wordmark, picturemark, both... as the artist sees fit)

The history of the theatre is described below, but in a nutshell, it was named for the old Firehall that the company used up until the building's demise in 1979. NOTE: Logo references to fire, fire personnel, or fire halls is NOT a mandate.

The design must invoke the spirit of creativity and theatre. The commonly overused "Tragedy and Comedy" masks are not required, but may be accepted if used creatively and uniquely.

Any questions about this design are welcome, and the winner will be the artist who can capture the essence of theatre while staying true to the name and history of the company.
Flame or fire imagery is ok, as long as it's not dominant to the 'theatre' imagery or text.

• Full access to source files. Full ownership of finished materials. Multiple formats and incarnations of the logo (Horizontal, vertical, light/dark background, monochrome, etc)

Bien d'avoir

• POSSIBLY a throwback to the firehall nature of the logo... this is not necessary. I'd be interested in seeing how it could be integrated though.

Ne doit pas comporter

• standard use of the old 'comedy/tragedy' masks. Overused. I would accept creative use of these IF it broke the standard mold. But only in extremely creative cases. NO Gradient or complicated colour schemes. 1-3 colours max.
