PRODUCT ABSTRACT: “SAFETY SENSOR”

A trailer hitch ball sits on a sensing mechanism to detect a force exerted on the trailer ball. The tongue weight that is applied to the ball is transmitted through the ball onto the sensing mechanism, or load cell and signaled to a display mechanism onto a display window showing the results of the force as weight.
This is a measurement of the approximate downward force exerted by the tongue of a trailer on a trailer hitch.
A weight sensing mechanism, or tongue weight donut scale, or “SAFETY SENSOR” is placed directly under a hitch ball and through the ball’s anchoring bolt, all of which are anchored and tightened to the draw bar of the trailer hitch assembly. A read out can be viewed by a user to determine the apparent weight of an attached trailer at the point of connection to the hitch ball. The readout is seen through an indicator window which is an integral part of the indicator box and the weight sensing mechanism, or tongue weight donut scale or “SAFETY SENSOR”. The brochures front page view is of a typical towing vehicle and trailer showing a typical connection of the vehicles, utilizing the SAFEY SENSOR.
This tongue weight donut scale can work with all existing popular sizes of hitch balls and draw bars. It can tell the user what the tongue weight of his trailer is, at the exact moment, at the exact location, at the exact position, and at the exact time and temperature the display is read. It is much faster, more portable, much more convenient, more stable, greaseless, and much easier to use than the touted present day methods using a bathroom scale, pump type jacks, and other devices. Although other load cell type devices have been thought of they are not presently seen or at all prominent in the market place.
Many states in the United States have laws on the books relating to the lawful towing of a vehicle or trailer on the public highways. Lives are at stake when hauling takes place without knowing your TONGUE WEIGHT to be sure you are trailering within safe and legal limits.
SAFETY and LIABILITY in case of an accident are only two of the VERY important issues that compel the towing consumer to be aware and know their legal and safe towing tongue weight.

1) Be sure all text is in a COLOR SCHEME that is EASILY READABLE, even in low light environments.
2) (POSSIBLE TO A LARGE OR SMALL DEGREE, DEPENDING ON YOUR OWN DESIGN THEME) I am partial to a sweeping, transparent, vague, see through, artistic background imagery & color, or variations of color, through the design. Maybe different degrees of intensity and meaning (gloomy throughout accident portions and happy/sunshine/bright at enjoyable portions (camping, etc).
3) USE VIBRANT COLORS (that attract attention) like at Art.com, click ARTISTS, view vibrant colors of PABLO PICASSO and VINCENT VAN GOGH.
4) The color of the Trademark logo (only the one above the Title Block) of ~ SAFETY SENSOR ~ to be reflective fluorescent.
5) Use quotation marks, etc. for most Text Statements.
6) Back side, center section (back of brochure) may not want to be so much text. Maybe this space is more effective as a pictorial message space ????????

The SAFETY SENSOR (Donut Scale) is a very convenient, portable, quick and easy way to determine the Tongue Weight of your trailer, WHILE IT IS ATTACHED TO YOUR TOW VEHICLE. It is a HIGH TECH solution giving you a real time readout of the weight your trailer tongue is imposing onto your vehicle hitch system (Tongue Weight).

The SAFETY SENSOR (Donut Scale) comprises a sensing mechanism where the weight of your trailer tongue is detected when your trailer is coupled to the hitch ball. The weight is converted into a measurable signal and displayed in a LCD window.

STATES have laws on the books mandating lawful towing of a vehicle or trailer on the public highways. One of them is not to exceed the manufacturers rated Tongue Weight when hauling a trailer.

2) ***** Be careful in using ‘safety’ type Marketing, not to scare existing hitch industry. They may be worried that you and your product will scare off consumers and the consumers will be deterred from buying or using a trailer or hitch and cause sales to go down.
3) Orient marketing to be a ‘partner’ of hitch companies, etc. promoting the industry, NOT ADVISARYS.
