PRODUCT ABSTRACT: “SAFETY SENSOR”

A trailer hitch ball sits on a sensing mechanism to detect a force exerted on the trailer ball. The tongue weight that is applied to the ball is transmitted through the ball onto the sensing mechanism, or load cell and signaled to a display mechanism onto a display window showing the results of the force as weight.
This is a measurement of the approximate downward force exerted by the tongue of a trailer on a trailer hitch.
A weight sensing mechanism, or tongue weight donut scale, or “SAFETY SENSOR” is placed directly under a hitch ball and through the ball’s anchoring bolt, all of which are anchored and tightened to the draw bar of the trailer hitch assembly. A read out can be viewed by a user to determine the apparent weight of an attached trailer at the point of connection to the hitch ball.
