Nerd Temple home page design

I'd like to take nerdtemple.com existing home page and use the logo attached and make and the home page look like thinkgeek.com home page or perpetualkid.com. The font size of the buttons should be similar to thinkgeek.com. does this make sense?

I've added a mock up of the layout design. I'm looking for fun nerd like design on the left and right of the borders. It should be faint but visible and add more character to the site apart from just a solid black thick border. We'd like the Glasses to be a Favicon as well.

Getting better. Let's try the logo in the top middle of the page and make sure it is bigger than the banner to the left and right. Add maybe the search bar to the left and the shipping info to the right of the log pyramid. if you do this right the pyramid will look like a nose and the surrounding rectangles will look like the glasses inside the logo we have.
