Resume redesign

C'est ce qu'une entreprise en/au(x) United States recherchait pour leur resume design

I'm a researcher who works with web design companies. I'm updating my resume but want more than the standard black and white wall of text. The content is updated, what I need is a design to make it readable, or in the words of my friend the hiring manager 'it needs to have high scan value'. It has to strike some balance between professionalism and readability.

There are two versions of my resume attached. I'm willing to cut some information if needed or reword things to simplify them. It would be great if it could be cut down to 2 pages, although this may require eliminating the publications section (which is fine).
