Our coalition of over 170 community leaders from 10 counties in south central Kentucky is collaborating to develop a 3 year Community Health Plan that addresses major health issues affecting our population and local economy. BRIGHT stands for Barren River Initiative to Get Healthy Together. Priority health issues are cardiovascular disease, diabetes, lung disease, obesity and drug abuse/addiction. We want to see healthier children, families, and workforce. We represent school systems, work sites of all sizes, local government, clubs/organizations, and health care providers. THE LOGO - will help us promote our goals and activities to 'sell' peer stakeholder organizations on making changes in how they do business for (1) healthier physical and social environments, (2) a more responsive healthcare services system, and (3) a population that is more informed and motivated to take responsibility for their health.
