Pier 8 Cafe

C'est ce que Pier 8 Walsh Bay recherchait dans leur logo design

We own a cafe, bar and function space which is located half way down a wharf at Pier 8/9, 23 Hickson Rd, Millers Point in the Walsh Bay precinct on Sydney.
The wharf is over 100 years old but was reconditioned several years ago. It still has that rustic feel about it. However, the reconditioning of the wharf has given the old design a modern feel about it. It is a real combination of the old world and the new. The wharf is situated on Sydney Harbour and so it has an amazing outlook.
The logo needs to be industrial looking, with a heritage link. Go to our facebook page - Pier 8 Cafe to see photos and get an idea of the type of business that we are.

I have also uploaded our current logo that we dont feel captures what we do. Also attached is a sample of the logo we like. We would like our logo to be typography-based.

The logo needs to encapsulate all our activities:
