To show "Japan", using the national flag=red dot seem good. To show "Ski/Holiday" i think Snow-flakes, Ski-Trail, Skier are good. i have uploaded few image on my Brief so please take a look. If you design a skier, it should be a skiing child rather than a ski racer.
