Brief de Design de Logo

I am a solo criminal defense attorney in the San Francisco Bay Area (I am based in Oakland) and I need a professional logo for a website. I'd also like to be able to incorporate the logo into letterhead as well. I want the logo to convey professionalism, establishment, experience, and confidence. I like both classic and modern looks. I am very open about what might be included in the logo in terms or graphics or not. I am curious to see logos that a purely text based and logos that incorporate a picture of some sort. I am not a fan of the "scales of justice" icons, because they are too common. I have no preference regarding serif or sans fonts. Whatever looks best to you.

My target market are people who have suddenly found themselves on trouble with the law and need the assurance or having an experienced attorney to help them through a difficult time. Most of my clients are people who have never hired an attorney before. They're afraid and need to feel confident that I am established, experienced, and effective.
