Hello designers,

Gold foil is done with a metal die and stamped on card in a certain shape such as the snail.
This is a two stage process, first card is printed then golf foil is stamped. Spot UV is when
you just UV a certain part or object on card to give it a shinny look. There is no die in this process.

Gold foil is a process by the printers - To cover the snail in gold foils that makes the snail pop out in real gold foil, same concept like the stationary and letter heads that have that distinct gold lines or borders but in your case a shape of a snail. a Spot UV is another process of the printers where like in my design the outline of the snail would be in gold then the inner part of the snail would be like covered in a transparent light plastic like material. It is a technique that is commonly used for simple logos and gives it a distinct look. Please follow the links below for examples and i hope i answered your questions.
