Actually, it's not a magazine. But I'd like it to look like one.
We have a bicycle tour. People who do these bicycle tours are given a 10-12 page packet outlining the day-to-day itinerary and explaining what they will see. We've been using the same (boring) Word template for 5 years now and need to update this to look more professional.
We have three different tours, but this first project is for one tour (basically the information on the attached PDF)
The magazine will have these different sections:
a. Why this tour
b. Preparing for this tour (which will contain: short texts on "What to pack", "How to train", etc.
c. Day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Each of the above "Days" will have very short "articles" like:
"The numbers"
(the kilometers ridden, the meters climbed, etc)
"The Route"
Navigation directions...be careful turning here, etc.
"Points of Interest"
What they will be seeing today
"Where to Eat",
Suggestions on where to eat
"The Hotel"
A bit of information about the hotel

English speaking cyclists...UPSCALE.

- 1. take the information on the PDF update the layout using a more advanced template (illustrator ? photoshop ?)
- 2. New PDF should come in three versions:
- a. version suitable for computer viewing
- b. version suitable for laser printer
- c. version suitable for press printing (if we decide to go that route)
- 3. New design should look like a magazine page, with headers, etc. Pleases include attached map and add your own generic pictures (two or three ) as I would like to have pictures of scenery shown on these pages.
- 4. The attached pdf includes the information that has been present until now. However, since we're making this information look like a magazine, I imagine that we'll be using space much differently....making it feel lighter, less dense. etc.

- Ideally, the person doing this project will also have experience with ibook and kindle OS, as we would eventually like these PDFs to have an electronic book format and made available on these platforms.
