Brief de Design de Logo

We're looking for a logo for our online diamond trading platform. The logo's primary use will be on our website.

The business:
The company name is PeerDiamonds and the domain name will be peerdiamonds.com
The business connects buyers (end-consumers) of certified jewelry grade diamonds with people who would like to sell theirs for more money than they'd get when selling to a jeweler. We add several safety and quality-control processes to ensure the buyer gets what he pays for and the exchange is completed without any problems. Buyers can also choose to have the diamond set into a brand new ring that he can choose from our selection of rings. Diamonds bought on our platform are cheaper than any diamonds of comparable quality anywhere else.

The logo:
The logo should be sleek but convey that the product is a luxury product, that the business is trustworthy and that buying a diamond through our platform is the smart and modern way of buying a diamond (cheaper by leveraging technology)

An additional requirement is that the logo also needs to work if it uses only a single color. The reason for this is that it might be overlaid over background images on the website.
One possibility would be to incorporate a visual of a handshake (two parties reaching a deal) into the logo
