Brief de Web Design

Our website, is loosely based on a grant proposal submitted to the American Heart Association last year for a community-based project that could improve the health of the community at large, I have attached this file for your review (underline "loosely). The idea is to create a "patient navigator" a website where patients can both learn and use as a resource for their care. I have been working on the project for some time, but my other responsibilities as a cardiologist have not allowed me time to learn and design a website of this type. Our website is intended for a spanish speaking audience and is in Spanish language. Designs in english will have to be translated. Our name: UniversidadSalud.com: means a health university: One option is to have the website have a "university" theme. The project calls for: An initial: easy registration process: collecting name, DOB and city. Simplicity is key, many of our patients barely use computers, and this site is meant to make things easier, not complicate them. The web site should work as an extension of the doctors office, so it should be serious, creative, addictive, engaging. Doctors will see the patients in the office then refer them to the website to continue their learning about their conditions. There should be a page where patients can post questions: a panel of doctors: represented with their pictures, (in circles? around the question answered?) titles and small resumes (our "faculty") answers them. Every person that will attach themself to this website will have a title: doctors and nurses will be professors, residents and fellows will be assistant professors, aids can be PA?. The site should have a market place where people can purchase items that doctors recommend including foods, products and devices; here too, we can have a "bookshop". This should have a flexible mechanism for doctors to add their recommendations a patients can have access to them. Very important: there should be a site intended to be a classroom, this is the meat of this protect: where people can watch videos our staff will make to learn about different subjects; the site should keep track of the videos watched by the person and eventually "graduate them". These videos will be created by my staff, and added over time to the site, students should be able to "request" classes (videos). It should have a site where people can input their medications (notebook), have them stored and printed as a list if necessary. And finally it should have a contact and references section. We have set up a relationship with another site that help people count calories: and a link to this should be available. We have a link to our twitter account, This protect is intended to expand, and we hope to establish a long term relationship with the design team to expand it as needed in the future. The site is on SquareSpace and can be seen in its current form at UniversidadSalud.com . We have had a logo designed with specific colors of the hospital I work with and one plan is to present it to our hospital to adopt our page in it final form. Again, this site is in spanish and intended for a spanish audience.
