Brief de Design de Logo

I am in need of a logo for my new website, ChurchWriting.com. It will provide online and offline writing services for churches, such as blog posts and material to supplement a sermon. This is not necessarily a “business” – I am a professional (freelance) writer and want to have a dedicated website that appeals to churches. The site is nearly finished – you can get a good idea of what is offered there by visiting it. I had a free logo made by a friend, but it wasn't of good quality.

In terms of design, I would like something modern and professional. I like that sleek, modern feel, and this needs to be professional.

I found a couple of logos that I like from churches: here (http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/109763) and here (http://churchrelevance.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/first-baptist-wellington-logo1.jpg). I would be interested in seeing different ideas for a logo, though I have a specific idea that would be nice to see. I’m not sure if it’ll work or not (in the “Nice to Have Features” section).

Please review my site to get a feel for where it will be placed. I will try to check in every couple of days at most, in order to give quick feedback

• It has to have graphical element that represents the Christian faith. A cross or Bible would be nice, but I’m open to others as well.
  
  I would like the full website name in the logo (“ChurchWriting.com”)

• Color Scheme: Would like to keep my current color on the site - FF5C00. It can certainly be a minor element of the logo (and it’s not a huge deal if we go with a completely different color scheme).
  
  I have a specific idea that would be interesting to see. Again, I have no idea if it would work/look good – and it would be nice to see some other fresh logo ideas, not just this. Here is my idea:
  
  This logo blends two ideas (http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/109763), with the dove and the Bible. I have an idea to blend two images in the logo – a pen and the cross. Take a look at this (http://cdn.tripwiremagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/thinkpen.jpg) and this (http://cdn.tripwiremagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/write-lover.jpg) logo. In the middle of the fountain pen nib, there is another image, obviously. I was thinking that my logo could have this kind of imagery, with the cross in the middle of the pen-inspired image. Maybe the colors could change to draw focus to the “interior cross” image. Or, it could be “hidden” in the spirit of these logos (http://www.toxel.com/design/2010/06/09/24-cool-logos-with-hidden-symbols/), particularly this one (http://www.toxel.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/logo16.jpg).
  Feel free to try that or something else.

• Nothing too tall or wide please; I’d like to use it on social media. Worst-case scenario, maybe a different crop of the image could be used on social media (e.g., in the case of http://churchrelevance.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/first-baptist-wellington-logo1.jpg, using the main part of the logo)
