Brief de Design de Logo

I am operating a company that provides locksmith and backflow prevention device testing services. As few people know much about backflow preventers, I feel I must explain these a bit.

Backflow preventers (BFPs) are devices that protect the public water supply by not allowing water to flow backwards out of a home/commercial establishment/industry and back into the public water system, potentially bringing contaminants with it. Essentially, the device allows water to pass from the public water system water mains and to the customer, but in the event of a loss of system pressure in the pubic water system (which could create a siphon effect, sucking dirty water or comtaminants out of the customer's place of business and into outside water mains) or high pressure within the establishment that exceeds the public water system pressure and pushes water out into the water system (referred to as backpressure) it will either stop the flow or discharge the backflowing water out of a port on the bottom of the device..

For a logo, I had thought about having a blue arrow representing clean water oriented in a left to right position and a red or green arrow oriented in a right to left position and turning down 90 degree to represent the contaminated reject water. I had also thought of superimposing an old style padlock and skeleton key over these to represent the locksmith side of the business. I am not married to this idea, however, and am excited to see what a creative and artistic person can come up with!

• I would like the design to be representative of the business, but simple enough to be embroidered onto shirts, screen printed onto t-shirts, added to business cards, letterhead, etc. without being overly "busy".

• The website is not allowing me to unselect the character logo selection, so I am not really looking for something like that, unless you come up with something really cool!
