The venue will be named "The Back Room" (because it actually is the back room of a larger building) and there will be a tag line that must be included as part of the logo - "an intimate place for music".
The place is emphatically NOT a bar or restaurant, but is a small concert hall with lovely brick walls, high ceilings, and comfortable (albeit mismatched) upholstered furniture.
The atmosphere will be homey and informal, but clearly serious about the music, with a grand piano featured prominently on stage.
Please do NOT include musical notes or music staff lines. That feels corny to me. Best would be just the words, maybe geometrical shapes, perhaps a piece of keyboard.

- Uncluttered - Grabs the eye, but very legible. Tag line not too small.
Bien d'avoir
- Simple geometrics might be good, especially if they can subtly indicate (in an abstact understated way) an inviting door to a back room. Red and Black are good colors. Grayscale is fine too.
Ne doit pas comporter
- No musical notes or clef signs. Subtle indicators of instruments (piano, guitar, etc.) might be okay.
