Brief de Design de Logo
The Great Basin National Park Foundation is embarking on a fundraising effort to build an astronomical observatory at Great Basin National Park in Nevada. The Park is home to some of the clearest, darkest night skies in the United States. The Foundation is looking for a logo that can be used in marketing materials, on letterhead, etc. The logo should feature the words "Great Basin Observatory and picture mountains and valleys, an observatory in the foreground on the hillside, and a background of constellations, the Milky Way, or star trails. We would like the logo to be in color but to still look OK when printed in black and white. Examples of logos for other observatories that we like are attached. The winning designer may also be hired for brochure and website design.

Reason: I like some of what I am seeing, but nothing that is exactly what I am looking for yet. For those who might be wondering, this observatory has not been built yet, so I cannot provide an image of it. But it will be a small, basic dome-shaped observatory. It will be sighted in the foothills (lower elevation slopes, at approximately 7,000 feet elevation) of Great Basin National Park. The park itself has several mountain peaks that reach over 12,000 feet, with the highest being Wheeler Peak at 13,063 feet. The valley floor below the park is about 5,000 feet, so proportionally, the observatory is in the lower elevation part of the landscape. My favorite designs so far have the observatory, the sky, and a simple mountain feature (not too much stuff).
