Brief de Design de Logo
Client desires a simple, clear, and graphic logo that will be primarily used in the Amazon Marketplace. Logo should distinquish the company from others when an Amazon customer is reviewing buying options in a list of vendors. An example of such a list in which we would want to stand out can be viewed here

As you can see, the challenge in this design project is the reduced size presentation format. Amazon specifies an aspect ratio of 120 x 30 pixels. It is recommended, of course, to build the logo on a larger scale for other applications and be able to reduce down to this size for the primary application. The name to appear in the logo is APOCALYPSE. The byline for the company name is "prepare, provide, protect". Apocalypse specilizes in high tech home survival products that are purchased in preparation for imminent disasters of any and all types, i.e., weather, economic, civil, etc. It is understood that the byline may not practically be able to appear in the reduced format. The logo should covey, at once, strength and elegance. We want the customer to know that Apocalypse provides a selection of only the highest quality and most advanced technology when it comes to securing you and your family in the event of calamity and a need to survive "off the grid". The following is a good and brief article on the profile of the modern "Prepper" that represents our customer base.

Make sure that the designers understand that it is not just the ratio they need to be concerned about . . . it is the actual pixel dimensions. The width of the image cannot exceed 120 pixels and the height cannot exceed 30 pixels.

Working with an image that is so tiny makes it almost impossible to convey any detail in the design, however you can always include the detail in your logo for use in other applications (business cards, stationery, etc.). You may actually end up having a number of different logos for different uses. For example, I have a design that I use for things like our custom postage stamps and Amazon gift cards that get sent to our clients:
And I am sure that, over time, you will find various uses that require different designs, and this is where you can really include a lot of detail in your designs. For right now I think you need to focus on the Amazon logo and here you have to accept the size limitations and realize that you are not going to be able to make a major design statement beyond just the name of your company. Of course I really like using the globe to replace the letter “O” in the word Apocalypse which is something that can fit within the size limits and still convey your message.

- One proposed design idea is to have an image of the earth as the "O" in APOCALYPSE (rudimentary mock up attached). If pursuing this direction, we like the idea of using an "earth with starburst" (example attached). With this idea, it is suggested that the lower curvature of the earth be subtly outlined to form the appearance of the "O".
