Brief de Design de Logo

Hi,
i'm would like a logo for my golf instruction biz called "On the Course Golf Performance" in Northern CA where I live. I want to interject some style into my brand, which offers coaching on the course as well as advanced training with feedback off the golf course. The logo needs to appeal to both men and women.

The logo needs to function in printed materials as well on my website.

Obviously I like birds so if that can be incorporated somehow that would be neat. Maybe a bird that is "on course." I also like a retro feel like the logo for petrolicious.com(see images below).
