Brief de Design de Logo
We are starting a line of 100% organic cotton t-shirts with simple vintage inspired screen-printed designs.
The name of the brand will be called Upcountry Threads. Upcountry refers to the rustic hillside community on the slopes of Haleakala National Park. This rural, artistic area includes many farms, plantation homes, botanical gardens and rolling hills.
We are looking for a rustic and/or vintage yet modern inspired design that communicates a warm, established, hip, genuine, organic and creative style. The design shouldn't feel too masculine or too feminine, but a nice balance that is appealing for both men and women.
The logo must translate well in black and white as well as color and not include too many details. The logo will be printed on t-shirt labels, hang tags, business cards and the website as well as other print collateral and signage.
Some ideas to play with (but not limited to) are:
- Play with hand drawn arrows, shapes & feathers
- Play on the word "Threads" to look like sewing thread
- Incorporating a stylistic simple bird looking up or flying in air (not a hawk or eagle)
- Please don't incorporate other country animals in the design such as deer, ducks, quails, antlers, etc... Although a rooster or rooster weathervine would be okay.
- Upcountry is a headline and vintage (soft edges, eroded texture) & Threads is a hand drawn / calligraphy / script font

Hi designers. Thanks so much for your work so far!
We have decided to change the bird from a specific 'cardinal' to a more broad 'country/farm' bird. The cardinal logo designs were starting to look too much like a Sports or University emblem. We've updated the creative brief to reflect this change.
Also, we are not attached to seeing a bird on the design. We would also like to see more designs without a bird and playing on the word 'Threads'.
We are looking for something creative, stylish and original.
