ABOUT US: Pasadena Water & Power is a nonprofit, public utility serving 75,000 residential and commercial customers in and near Pasadena, CA. We are a department of the city of Pasadena. We provide essential water and power service at affordable rates and with respect for environmental concerns.
Need a quick flyer to promote a raffle/charitable cause.
NOTE: DO NOT SUBMIT UNLESS YOU CAN WORK ON IT THIS WEEK AND SEND FINAL BY MONDAY MORNING, NOV 29.
SPECS: 8.5" w x 11" h, full color, one side.
PURPOSE: We are raffling tickets to a glitzy entertainment event, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at NOkia Theatre in Downtown LA, to raise money for our low-income customer assistance program, Project APPLE.
AUDIENCE: Broad, because we want to raise money from anyone and everyone, but the raffle tickets we just received (the bait) will appeal mostly to families with kids. The raffle is affordable for anyone ($10) but of course we want people with greater means to donate as much as they can. Most people who are going to see the raffle promotion are in Pasadena (Los Angeles), which is a diverse community in terms of age, income and education, and politics skew ever so slightly left of center.
IDENTITY: It's more about the excitement of the tickets and giving to our Project APPLE program than it is about us. The message is "Have a fabulous free family/friend Christmas outing and help someone in need at the same time." So that says about us, "we care about our customers and we are a LIKABLE, GENEROUS utility that respects tradition and family fun."
STYLE: It's a Christmas themed promotion for a LOCAL charitable cause. Since we are raffling tickets to an exciting live entertainment event, a style that says
glittery holiday/family fun is appropriate, as long as it doesn't outshine our Project APPLE cause. Style reference here: http://www.radiocitychristmas.com/
TEXT: See attachment below - i'm open to text changes to accommodate better design as long as all pertinent info is in there. Feel free to make your suggested changes.
LOGOS: We will need to incorporate the Pasadena Water & Power logo. I will give it once the design is chosen. We do not yet have a logo for Project Apple, but fyi, the future design is going to be one hand passing an apple to another. It won't be ready to incorporate in the flyer, though.

- I'm also going to cut and paste some of the art (or have the designer do it) so that I have complementary art as a sidebar on the simple webpage that I'm posting today. (Wasn't sure how to incorporate this in the creative brief/contest - it's my first time using this service.) The web art will be about 173 px wide and about 400px or more long, but I'll wait to see what comes of the flyer to decide on that piece. Focus on flyer...

I'm trying to get an ok to use the Radio City images, but Because we do not yet have authorized use yet, you might not want to design around those images or have a back up.
