Brief de Design de Logo

Hi designers, we are looking for a logo for a construction/investment company called HORNCON. The company's work consists of site engineering, gps surveying, heavy plant machinery hire, project/site management and in the future investing in projects.
The company specialises in golf course construction and machine hire, but we would prefer the logo to be more generic and not tie us to the type of work we do now. It should be future-proof in that it is appropriate for any type of work we undertake, not just golf and machinery.
Of course the logo should look great on everything from work t-shirts to smart shirts. It should look suitable on invoices and it will also be sign written on machines from excavators to bulldozers and on pickup trucks.
On some of the trucks the logo might be stretched to cover the whole tuck body, not just horizontal on the door for example.

The current logo is just the company name with the 'horn' part in blue. It does not have to be blue or even just one colour but it must include the company name, preferably in upper case but its up to you.
Companies that have logos we like include - Caterpillar, Komatsu, Exxon, IBM, Mastercard and FedEx.

Its quite a vague description but we are open to lots of options. Please keep it simple, block colours, no gradients and not too busy.
