Brief de Design de Logo
We need a logo design for an emerging non-profit organization which provides lifetime care for abused, neglected and unwanted parrots in captivity. We are based in Annapolis, MD. Our name is "The Icarus Foundation, Inc.", and we also do business as "The Chesapeake Parrot Sanctuary." We would like to see both names incorporated in the logo, along with an abstract image of a cockatoo or cockatoo head with telltale raised crest. We would like a simple, modern, cool design.
I was hoping to utilize an abstract cockatoo using minimal "wispy" lines which portrays the "idea" of the bird, and have the image of the bird partially go thru the lettering whether used on the side or thru the middle, or lettering thru the bird. The bird could be similar to tribal art, but not as heavy and more wispy. I would prefer more emphasis on "Chesapeake Parrot Sanctuary" than on "The Icarus Foundation, Inc."
I added a link to a sketch, but please remember I'm NOT an artist so don't try to make it look just like the sketch. The cockatoo's crest isn't going in the right direction : /

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Thank you all for your designs! I really need a logo very soon! I've extended the deadline 2 more days, hoping that someone will come up with a design closer to what I was expecting. I've edited the brief and hope it is more descriptive now. Three designers had incorporated some of the elements I was looking for but apparently I haven't been very good at conveying what I really want. . . sorry.

I awarded 2nd place without realizing that I would not be able to continue with the project at hand so that I could award 1st place to a new design. I am unable to accept new designs now. As a result, I'm going to end the project for now, and submit a new brief when I have more time to dedicate to the project, possibly in September. Hopefully, I will be better able to explain/describe what I'm looking for. Thank you all for your wonderful design submissions!
