Brief de Design de Logo

I need a logo for an edtech startup called Teach-Up Weekend. Our company is an event, a website, and a curation tool. We will be hosting several top end educators to come to an event similar to a startup weekend and create an entire unit of study for schools who implement a 1:1 computing strategy. I am giving you free reign on creativity, but I am looking for something very modern. I like logos such as the ones you will find at codeschool.com and skyepack.com. I also would like my logo to easily be able to be printed or viewed in a singly color (black or white) as well as in the colors you lay out.
