To all designers who submit before the deadline, there is something you should know.
Comments I have sent to designers include the following:
1) Focus your attention on designs from the early 1900's, no later than 1910. Do a Google Image search on "1900's Graphic Design" and you'll see what I mean.
2) Take your time thinking about what your design will look like from a distance. Imagine peering upon a railway boxcar on the other side of a river. Can you read the logo?
3) Of the colors I shared with you in the brief, I prefer red and yellow highlights. The green, blue and grey colors are intended to be complimentary representing nature. They are not the drivers of the design.
4) Avoid keyholes unless you can design a really cool lock circa early 1900's.
5) No antiquing. I don't need to see dust or speckles over your design. If you do that, I'll ask for it to be removed.
6) Modern fonts are not going to fly with me. Make sure the font is circa 1900 to 1910.
7) Express industrialism, yet a caring for nature too.
Thank you and good luck.
