Brief de Web Design
We are looking for an initial design/concept only (no coding) for 2 pages of an in-development speed dating events website - www.onlineandspeeddating.com. Once we have selected a design we will likely then look to engage the winning designer (probably in a freelance project) to complete other areas of the design.
The specification is very open and we're interested to see designs featuring different layouts, colours and design features.
The 2 pages are:
1. Home Page - http://www.onlineandspeeddating.com
2. Event Listing Page - http://www.onlineandspeeddating.com/Dating-Event.aspx
- the taxonomy section currently on the left hand side may include more items
Both page designs need to include the items that appear on these pages but in no way need to follow the current design or layout - eg. a 'Next Speed Dating Events' section should appear on the home page but where it appears, how many items in the listing, amount of details, size of images etc can change. Other elements may also be added such as image rotators.
Some elements that are on the current website and will appear on all pages:
- social media bookmark links
- ad units - need to include room for advertising locations
- country chooser - events are currently only listed for the UK but the site will eventually be tailored for different countries so users need the ability to select the country site they would like to view
Some elements that aren't on the current website but that should appear:
- User rating system on event listings (eg. 4 out of 5 stars, 1 out of 10, 2 out of 3 'thumbs up')
- User comments/feedback on event listings
- Prominent 'book now' or 'book for this event' type link/button for events (home and events page) and 'visit website' link/button for online listings (home page)
As far as looks we'd like a clean, attractive, personable design. Obviously we'd like some more colour than is currently on the site but we do need users to be able to browse through events and read the details comfortably.
Other than that it's entirely open - we're happy for the designs to be quite funky or less so.
Mises à jour
Some further information following some questions we've received:
- We would like to see all the elements on the current home page in home page designs as fitting it all in is part of the issue. Layout is not set however the priorities for display would be roughly as they are displayed currently. ie. the 'Next Speed Dating Events' section is most prominent, Recently Viewed listings are shown, 'All Upcoming Events' may be below the fold etc.
- We don't have a requirement for a logo on the site and this doesn't necessarily need to appear in designs - totally up to you - we're lookiing at the overall page designs.
- There may be many items in the 'All Upcoming Speed Dating Events' section which we would be including on the home page. Ideally designs would feature a way of displaying these but don't need to include all items
