Brief de Design de Logo

First time user here - forgive me for any shortcomings in this description!

We have two companies - www.ideonmedia.com and www.maplemedia.ca - that are combining under the brand "Maple Media" (which you have to admit is a better brand).

The new Maple Media will be a Canadian media company with some wholly-owned sites (those under the existing Maple Media) and some sites that we represent (those under the existing Ideon Media).

The Maple Media logo that's on the site now was designed in a hurry by someone not very good, but the elements worth capturing are:

1) The logo has to use the maple leaf, and I like the idea of sort of a metallic red
2) I like the idea of projecting digitization - similar to the old Xerox logo where the "X" sort of pixellated at the end
3) The font used was one I like.

YOUR LOGO HAS TO INCLUDE THE NAME AS WELL AS A PICTURE.

Also - I have a long history of falling in love with designs that are nothing like the description I provided. So I'm trying to describe here what I'd like, but if lightning strikes and you absolutely HAVE to submit a design that's nothing like I've described, by all means feel free. :-)

ADDITION SINCE ORIGINAL POSTING 15 HOURS AGO:
I didn't realize that a lot of logo designs include taglines. Our tagline is "Your brands deserve our audience". If that's something you can work in, terrific.

The target market is ad agency buyers. They are typically 25-35 and live in a city (generally Toronto).
