Brief de Web Design

StringDae is an investigation web application that would organize, create visualizations and allow collaboration. It’s available to anyone and can be used by students, historians, watchdog groups, civic hackers, investigative reporters, mystery enthusiasts, authors, even conspiracy theorists.

We are looking for two related pages. The first, a splash, or front, page and the second a ‘template’ for the web application. They should both be styled the same. The only restriction is that the logo is set.

The design should also be modern and visually well organized — employing a combination of visual devices and info graphics. Keep it light and not too heavy but strong/ professional. Do not be influenced by the current colors of stringdae.com, though the colors should be compatible with the logo..

The pages should be compatible with bootstrap, mostly for it’s JS and component functionality. It can be advised by the designer that a subset of bootstrap be used.

I have a very rough wire frame ish html file uploaded. Use a a guide, but alternate ideas are encouraged.

The application page should have some sort of bar for at the top for system level links a header and a footer. A vertical column to the left between the header and footer for ads, though this will be dynamic as a user can pay out of seeing adds. All dynamic actions will be made by the developers at StringDae.

WARNING. Please do not submit pre-made templates from some template website. We can do that ourselves for free.
