Brief de Print Design

The Marin Swim League (MSL) holds a major swim meet each year that determines the Champion swimmer for each age group and the champion swim team. This event is one o the high points of a summer league swim competition. The ages of the swimmers ranges from 5 years to 18 years and includes both boys and girls. The event is held in Marin County (just north of San Francisco. Marin is known for its outdoor lifestyle, including Mt Tamalpais and the Golden Gate Bridge.
For 2014 we need a new design for a selection of merchandise, including long and short sleeve t-shirts, caps, shorts, and track pants.
The design should meet the following criteria:
• Unique in design from previous years (please see attached file of previous designs)
• Appealing to boys/girls/adults- appealing enough to wear the clothing everyday
• Incorporate a swimming and Marin County theme, although the primary focus is swimming
• Include the date and year of the swim meet – this year is Saturday 12th July 2014- date format is negotiable
Include "2014 MSL CHAMPS" (font and case negotiable)
• Corporate advertising will be included on the back of the shirts e.g. REI, Wholefoods, Speedo, etc
• Color and graphics are important, although if a great black and white image was produced we would entertain that concept.
• Clothing will include T-Shirts (short and long sleeve), light sweats, caps, shorts, etc.
• Clothing colors are typically white, black, grey, and soft colors. Again this is the historical pattern but we are open to working with a creative artist to plan a more bold theme, including clothing colors

  Color seems to work well with kids. The teenagers are thye moist difficult to please sofocus design more with this age group.
  
  Life of the product should be 2-3 years, as kids seem to move on after that period of time.
  
  A few thoughts in this section.
