Book Design Project

Hi,
I'd love to work on this job but have a few questions first:

 What size are the pages?
Will the pages still be added to a spiral bound booklet?
Does the things to do/weekly planner need to be in this format where it uses the whole of the right hand page?
Will you be supplying the copy?
Will you be supplying any images?
This brief is simply for the design of the one spread?

Hope this all made sense.

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for your email.

Please find the answers to your questions;

1. Page Size - Trim Size 267mm x 205mm, Image Area 251mm x 185mm, Top 8mm, Bottom 8mm, Inside 12mm, Outside 8mm.
2. All the planners/diaries are spiral bound. We print the pages then they get spiral bound in the finishing. Once the planners/diaries have been spiral bound we don't add in any additional pages.
3. Bascially we need to have a week to view planner/diary format that covers two pages. You have freedom to move things around if you think it is going to be more engaging for teenagers.
4.You can use the existing copy for the double page spread design. We are looking for designs to make the content more fun, exciting and engaging.
5. I can supply the original images from that page if needed.
6. Yes, the brief is for the design of 1 spread. The next planner/diary will be printed in 4 colour so you have a blank canvas in terms of colour, fonts and design. It is more about designing a layout that is fun, exciting, engaging so teenagers will read and apply the wellbeing content that appears on each page. Each double page will have different wellbeing content and different images. The colours could even change with the different well being content on each page.

Please feel free to contact me with any other questions.

Thanks,
Rohan

Hi,

I just want to make sure I understand the assignment correct; is a redesign of the layout our are looking for? a template of the 2 pages (double spreads) ?

Best regards, Vibeke

par Porteur De Projet le dimanche 1 juillet 2012

Hi Vibeke,

Yes, that is correct. It is a double page spread, a left hand page and a right hand page.

The book it is actually a Student Wellbeing Diary/Planner.

The age group is teenagers - 13yrs - 17yrs

We are looking for a 4 colour design that is colourful, fun and engaging. We are also looking for ways to make the text in the column on the left hand side more appealing, engaging and fun for teenagers.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,
Rohan

Hi.

I would like to know if you are willing to extend the deadline. And also if you could provide the text in the left side of the spread example. I am sorry, I just heard of the project yesterday and im very insterested in it, but I havent got enough time to finish a good design.

Thank you very much.

Hi Rohan,

Just thought I'd check to see if you needed to make any more changes to the design before you make your final decision?
