Brief de Design de Logo

We need a logo designed. We are business consultants providing innovative risk management solutions to industry. Our primary industries are asset intensive organisations such as utilities, transport, mining and oil & gas companies.
We are a startup business and wish to differentiate ourselves from our competitors by utilising up to date methodologies being used in other industries such as predictive analytics to achieve client goals. In that sense we are modern and remove much of the complexity of advanced mathematics to deliver simple solutions.
I don't have any colours in mind but I think black definitely works well as a simple modern design. I think I would like some type of graphic accompanying it but open to suggestions. I'm not a suit wearer but do dress in smart shirts (open collar) and slacks and the logo should communicate intelligence and the clients should feel secure in our solutions.
