Brief de Design de Logo

We are a UK charity called Salcare, who help people in our local communities (Derbyshire) struggling with getting by.

We have a new Chair of the Board, a new general manager, new partnerships with local businesses and new contracts - the 'business' of looking after people is looking very good indeed. There is a lot of demand from local authorities, police and social services, who refer people to us for: food bank, benefits advice, housing advice, domestic abuse support, charity shop clothes, furniture and bedding. We are also about to launch our new cafe 'Salcare Kitchen'.

Years ago we were run by the local church and the name Salcare came from combining Salvation and Care. We no longer have any association with the church, but the name is well known, as we are almost 40 years old.

We would like a new logo for the charity name 'Salcare' and this should NOT be green (we are fed up with green!) but should be a fresh natural colour, perhaps a purple? We would like the design to be suitable for letterheads, website and signage. Because we are about to launch our new cafe 'Salcare Kitchen', the style of logo should be adaptable for the cafe signage, menus and so on.

The logo(s) should communicate caring. We are a one-stop-shop for people who are really struggling with everyday life - sometimes because of the decisions they have made, sometimes through sheer bad luck and lack of resources. We think everyone should get the chance to help themselves get on with the world and when someone comes to our door with nothing to sit on or cook with, we will help them with low-cost or free goods and food.
