Application icon for a Mac app that processes batches of images

Hello!
I've noticed you're flirting with "flat" design. What did you mean by "beautiful"? Classic mac skeuomorphism or sir Jonathan Too-cool-to-admit-he's-panicly-attempts-to-copy-microsoft Ive style?
I thought about something like: Preview/iPhoto vs. XCode feat BrushPilot...
What do you think?
Thanks for your question, hopefully I can clear things up.
I think there are two possible styles to make the icon for this app work:
1. An icon consisting of one or more real-world-resembling objects. All apps you named have icons like this and actually I like all of them. Ideally one of the objects symbolizes what users can edit with the app, and one object symbolizes the tools used for editing. In case of this app, the former could be a stack of images (something like what I made in Icon Ideas.ai), and the latter could be some tools, e.g. a saw and a screwdriver… I also like the icon of Artboard (available on the App Store). A robot could work as well (the app is similar to Automator, but specialized for images).
The advantage of an icon like this is that many icons on Mac OS have such a style, so the icon will more easily fit in with the rest.
2. Something more abstract / stylistic. I like it if an icon has a very strong yet simple shape, but I find it really hard to come up with ideas that makes sense for this app. Honestly I think that style 1 is more likely to work, but who knows, maybe someone has a very nice idea for something more stylish! I have tried to find some examples of what I mean by "more abstract / more stylistic", but it's hard, there's not a lot of good ones… Maybe not the best examples, but at least some icons that I think are pretty good (all on the App Store): Cinemagraph Pro, Skitch, Messenger for Telegram.
Hopefully this helps, looking forward to see what you come up with!
