Brief de Design Illustration

UPDATE 25JUN2012 - All, we have received a few designs - not as many as we have received for past projects. We attribute this to the complexity of our ask so we are going to take the designers collective advise and simplify somewhat.
TC-M is a brother and sister and a family pet. Be creative on the pet - not reason for it to be a dog. We like fish, penguins, birds, etc.

Logos should be designed to appeal to parents, adolescents and young adults. TC-M should exhibit/express curiosity, wonder and positivity. TAG LINE FOR THE LOGO:
Q. Trendy? A: Forward-Looking. Join Team Cro-Magnon.

We've been able to capture the spirit of the team but not quite the look. We are looking for something a little more abstract. Attached below is a graphic of something we like.

The cro-magnon pet should have a cro-magnon quality about it as well.  From wikipedia: "..Cro-Magnons were robustly built and powerful. The body was generally heavy and solid with a strong musculature. The forehead was straight, with slight browridges and a tall forehead..."

Think outside of the norm for the cro-magnon pet.  A dog is too generic.  How about a hawk? A fox or even a fish (in a bowl…)

UPDATE 14June2012 - All, thank you very much for the designs we have received.  Here are some observations we've made.


We are getting designs that include the entire family of cro-magnons and while Team Cro-Magnon is an entire family, we think we should concentrate on a sub-set of the family for this 1st design, then build from that sub-set in later designs.  This way, we can hone in on the look that we want.  Going forward, lets go for a boy and his pet or a brother/sister scene on their pet.  A fish as a pet is working.  We like that.  We also think a honey bee works.  Spears/fire work as well.  We know cro-magnons killed with spear and they did have fire so both of these elements fit if you chose to include.  But if you have other ideas, please feel free to express them.  We are only as good as your ideas.

Lasty, less is more.  Simple clean lines and not too many colors.  We don't have a limit on color but should try and keep it simple.
