Hi,
how many pages you need to design?
I only need as many as it takes to "get" your idea.
In other words, doing the key three or four pages is fine. The idea is to think about the three or four pages that most people are going to look at before they decide if they want to try building a site with our product or not.
Pretend to be someone surfing our website. What are their fears? What do they need to hear to inspire enough confidence that they''ll try our product?

Hi,
Could you please make the payment guaranteed?
Hi,
Please provide feedback as soon as you can.
Hi,
Please provide feedback as soon as you can.
Lissaleeckx - Thank you for submitting the design. My overall feeling in looking at it was that it wasn''t enough different from what we have to make it worth our effort to rebuild the site. I thought our response rate would be roughly the same. Our hope is that we''ll seem something that makes us go, "Huh? I wasn''t expecting that. I could really see that working!" .. perhaps that is impossible. I don''t know. As I mentioned earlier, the biggest issue we are struggling with is communicating concisely to customers what we do, and convincing them that our product is simple enough that they can do it.
As to making the payment guaranteed - I will make the payment guaranteed as soon as I see something from someone that looks promising. There was a submission earlier today that was closer to what we are seeking, but not quite there yet. My hope is that in the next day or two we''ll see some really cool creative ideas, and make the payment guaranteed, and then if someone comes in with something even more incredible .. well that would be great!
As to precisely what direction I think we need to go ... I''m not sure. I "think" that the result is something that is more inviting. It looks simple, without making us look like a "toy product." Our product does a lot of things, and is "industrial strength" so I don''t really want people confusing it with all the placebo products that pretend to give a website, but all they give you is a one-page listing. I''m looking for something that communicates to a non-geek that they can: a) Have a website (or blog) in a few minutes, b) They don''t need to learn anything, c) It''s FREE .. no risk, no credit card required, and d) This is not a goofy gutless pretend system - it''s the real thing. (I''m not looking for copy that says these things.. I''m looking for a way to communicate these things quickly without someone having to do lots of reading. I think our site is too wordy.)
There''s a few other concepts which may, or may not, be part of the site .. I''d need to see the site to say if these things contribute to the sale, or just detract.. we''ve built over 100,000 sites (small by facebook standards.. but, our customers like them), been around for 10 years, and my personal background is semi-known to many people (I ran a super-successful software company, Sierra On-Line, for 17 years).
