Brief de Design Emballage

We are wanting to re package a cat litter disposal system to be sold in pet stores and supermarkets.
The item is a liner made of mesh that sits in a cat litter tray that is lifted to sift the litter. Hence the name “The Litter Sifter”

The brief…
To make a fun, informative package design to show what our product is and how its works.

See image ST_1244a, which is a product similar for sale (not in the market we will sell our product, so its not a competitor)

What we like about this packaging is….
• the colours used, although it doesn’t mean we want the same.
• the pictorial showing how the product works using one picture.
• the “cuteness” of the cat used.
• “new”
• “save money”
• The creativity of & being stylised to be like a cat (although our name doesn’t have &).

We very much like this design, but are looking for some creativity to be used.

The 5 step pictorial on this old packaging should be on the back side of the carton along with the instructions, so if the customer looks on the back of the box they get a more detailed description of what it does. TLS_copy.doc has the copy used.
Also uploaded are the 5 instructional pictures. Unfortunately these are low resolution, but we do not have any others. We will reshoot these after the close of the contest. So, we realise that these low res images will have to be used at the moment.


The benefits that should be emphasised are:
• new
• no more scooping
• save money – extend litter life

We are looking for creativity and fun, so if you have a better idea, don’t be afraid to try something different.
The packaging dimensions are 23cm high (+3cm for "hook" as on the old packing we don't like) 18cm wide and 5cm thick.
