Hi.
What should an alligator be like?
Cool, funny, cheerful or serious, friendly or out of his mind? Realistic or cartoonish?
I just googled "musician alligator" and there are already dozens of different alligators. Which one do you like? Not in terms of which one it resembles. But in terms of which one you shouldn't draw your alligator like.
Look.
People listen to different music on vinyl. Every style has its own visual language. What language do you want to speak to your audience?
See what I mean?

You can draw an alligator in a cyberpunk style; something street-style, boom-bap; something purely club-style – a disco and all that; you can draw an alligator doing karaoke... and several dozen other different alligators. And all of these will be alligators with a record player, a microphone, and headphones. Which one do you like?

Please try to describe more specifically that alligator that only you can imagine. It's only in your head. Not ours. Want a cool logo? Describe it! In your own words, as best you can, the main thing is to give the designer direction for the visual image.

Currently, the brief is more like:
"Sell me a cool record!" - "What style?" - "I don't know, I just want it to be cool."

Have a nice day)

Very good question, thank you. Actually I don't know..I am hoping among the numerous submissions I will see something that sends me in the right direction. So far the first one submitted is my favorite - looks pretty good. I sell all kinds of music all over the world so I suppose a general "cool" look it what we need. Let's see what designs come in and maybe some new ideas will arise as well. Thank you again! Maybe down the road I'll ask for variations of the chosen design so that there is one for heavy metal, one for hip hop, one for reggae, etc..that would be something special I think!

You're welcome.
It's better to ask once, than to redesign it.
Look, an interesting idea has already emerged – the logo should be able to be modified based on the musical style. That is, the logo itself should imply versatility.

Now another important question.
Why do you need an alligator playing vinyl with a microphone and headphones?
You don't play music? you're not DJ. You sell records.
Maybe you should emphasize that?
You see, it's a visual clash.
What will someone think the first time they see a logo with an alligator spinning records and doing something with a microphone?
Most likely, it's either a music artist, another DJ Alligator, or it's about music, not about "selling vinyl records." You see?

Looking forward to your valuable feedback, Thank you!

Great point! I am also open to designs that convey the idea that we sell records (and, it's via website instead of a record store). If you have an ideas I would love to see. Thanks!

Thank you for taking a look at my design. Please read the pitch as well, because the main value of this direction is that it keeps the Snappy character present while avoiding an overly detailed mascot that could become hard to use in real applications.
