Brief de Design de Logo

We're looking for a logo for a new digital platform called Trooperly — it introduces people to help one another with everyday tasks in their local neighbourhood. Friendly, trustworthy, human.

We'd like two things that work as a pair:
The full wordmark — "Trooperly" as a clean, confident piece of lettering.
A standalone logo mark — built from the letter "T", for small spaces, app icons, profile icons.

The feel we're after: eye-catching, a touch nostalgic, but still modern. The name has an old-fashioned warmth to it — a "trooper" is a good sort, someone reliable who turns up when it counts — and we'd love the design to carry a touch of that friendliness without tipping into retro pastiche or feeling twee. Think confident and instantly identifiable.

Please keep it typographic. No icons or pictorial symbols — no houses, hands, people, rooftops, or location pins. Simple geometric shapes are welcome if they genuinely strengthen the mark (a circle, a clean enclosure), but the letter T should be very unique and lead.
These will also live on merch — caps, hoodies, tees — so it needs to pique interest - uniquely identifiable, conversation starting and recognisable from across a room. It should hold up embroidered, screen-printed, and stitched; work in a single colour as confidently as in full colour; and stay legible when it's tiny.

If you're able, we'd love an animated version too — even a simple, short motion treatment of the logo or the T mark. This is a bonus rather than a requirement, but if motion is your thing, we'd genuinely like to see it.

A note on a more modern direction: we're open to a more modern take on Trooperly, and one thing we'd find interesting is the use of contrasting proportions to give it energy — an oversized T against smaller letters, an exaggerated difference in weight the sort of difference that would catch the eye.

Ongoing design work is available for the right person. We're building a brand, not just a logo — so we're paying close attention to craft, versatility, and how well the brief is interpreted.

We're drawn to a warm, sunlit palette — deep orange, poppy yellow, and a rich classic red. Think earthy and Australian: the light of a late afternoon outside, not tech-bright or clinical. These are a starting direction, not a lock — if you can see a stronger warm palette in the same spirit, show us. Just keep it warm and grounded; nothing cold, corporate, or neon.

INSPIRATION
We've included a few reference images below. Some of these deliberately pull in different directions to get a feel for the range we're open to, then commit to whichever direction speaks to you and show us your take. Please read the caption on each — it points at the specific thing we're responding to. The written brief above holds the non-negotiables; the images are just for feel and direction.

Lobby Bar. This is the script we mean — bold, rounded, and confident, with real weight in the strokes. Nostalgic but not old-fashioned or fine; warm and friendly rather than formal. Note how the letters connect and flow — that hand-crafted character is what we like.

No Vacancy Motel. We like the warmth and confidence of the lettering here, the rich classic red, and the way it angles gently upward — that lift feels optimistic and alive. The script is part of the appeal: nostalgic without being old-fashioned, because it's bold and sturdy rather than thin or fussy.

The "T." mark. We're drawn to the boldness, the full stop (it feels settled and dependable), and the slight forward lean that gives it movement. But it feels unfinished to us — a little plain and untouched, and floating without structure.

The upswept "t". This one's more modern — deliberately different, to show the range we're open to. We love the friendliness of it: that upward tail gives it a happy, optimistic lift without a symbol or icon doing the work. Our one hesitation is it's almost too cute — we think more weight in the stroke (and our bold warm colour) might ground it and keep it confident rather than sweet. Note this is a lowercase "t" where some of our other refs are uppercase — we're open to either, and happy to see both explored. This is also a good candidate for that contrasting-proportions idea if you want to run with it.

The slanted "T". This stopped our scroll — the exaggerated forward slant is bold and eye-catching, exactly the kind of thing that reads across a room on a cap. But it tips too harsh for us with the hard angles and the downward-pointing ends. We're pointing at the energy and movement here — take that distinctive lean, but soften it so it feels confident and warm rather than sharp.

Deliverables:
> Primary logo (wordmark) and standalone "T" mark, supplied as a system that works together
> Horizontal lockup plus the mark on its own
> Full-colour, single-colour (black), and reversed (white) versions
> Vector source files (AI/SVG/EPS) plus PNGs with transparent backgrounds
> Everything legible and clean down to favicon/app-icon size, and strong enough to embroider
> Optional: a short animated treatment of the logo or T mark, if you're able

Do / Don't (helps filter the entries fast)
Do: bold, warm, characterful lettering; a distinctive T that could stand alone as a patch or monogram; something that feels thoughtful and considered.
Don't: generic tech-startup gradients; clip-art symbols; anything that reads as corporate, cold, or like a charity/welfare service; overly ornate or hard-to-reproduce detail. Off-the-shelf type with no modification. The lettering should be reworked — custom letterforms, adjusted spacing, considered detailing — so it's uniquely ours.
