The book is about a Guatemalan boy raised in the United States, who is kidnapped back to Guatemala in order to perform the rituals of the end of the Maya Calendar n 2012. His uncle, who kidnapped him, believes that only by killing him can he become the ruler of the world that is expected to rise from the ashes of the old that is heading toward disaster. The book was released in 2011. It takes place mostly in Washington, DC and Guatemala. The two images I uploaded are from the paperback and the graphic novel versions of the book. I hope that helps.
