Creative Brief: 777 Marathon Logo Redesign

Background
The 777 Marathon is a unique charity running event hosted by Bravehearts, challenging participants to complete 7 marathons in 7 states in 7 days across Australia. The event unites runners from around the country to raise funds and awareness for the protection of children.
Our current logo (see attached examples) has served us well, but we are looking for a refreshed design that reflects the scale, professionalism, and endurance of the event while maintaining a sleek, modern aesthetic.

Objectives
• Modernise and simplify the existing logo.
• Create a sleek and professional identity that aligns with the prestige and national scale of the event.
• Maintain connection to the running theme and the Bravehearts brand colours.
• Ensure flexibility for use across digital, print, apparel, signage, and social media.

Design Requirements
• Inspiration: Running, endurance, movement, energy, unity, national scale.
• Tone: Bold, modern, inspiring, inclusive.
• Key Message: “7 Marathons. 7 States. 7 Days.” — a symbol of strength and national unity.
• Colours:
o Navy #282560
o Purple #781D7E
o White

Creative Direction
• The map of Australia should no longer be the main focus — if used at all, it should be subtle or abstract.
• Focus on running elements (e.g., runners, movement lines, track motifs, or stylised “777” shapes that convey motion).
• Consider using the “777” as the hero visual element, integrated with running or motion-inspired design.
• The typography should be strong, clean, and legible, with potential for emphasis on the word MARATHON.
• Avoid clutter — aim for a minimal yet powerful design that can adapt easily to horizontal and stacked formats.

Deliverables
• Primary horizontal logo
• Stacked/compact version (for square or social formats)
• Black-and-white and full-colour versions
• Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) and web-ready PNGs
