Brief de Design Art
Canouan in st Vincent and the grenadines was hit by a devastating category 5 hurricane in July 2024. We are gradually rebuilding the island. As part of the recovery the market place at the wharf needs completely rebuilt and re imagined. Canouan is a small Caribbean island paradise and welcomes visitors from ferries serving the near islands and from tourist on yachts. The intention is to repurpose 20 foot shipping containers 7 in total to house ice cream shop, souvenir shop, cafe, bar, cloths shop, basic water and ice and vegetables for the yacht community as well as a burger bar. The atmosphere needs to be very Carribean, beach and welcoming. The containers need Carribean corrugated tin roofs, guts and water collection barrels. They should alll be different bright colours and use reclaimed wood and corrugated tin.
