Brief de Design de Logo

We need a logo design for a new company based in Montana called Montana Design Innovations. We are a do everything engineering shop, we do mechanical design, make knives, coat and build guns, powder coat bumpers, build diesel trucks, work on heavy equipment, machining, and offer engineering consultation. We will also offer to sell anything designed by Montanans that we fine unique and innovative on our website so they can get exposure. I'm looking for a logo that will look good laser etched on metal as well as on the website. I'm looking for 2 logos, a smaller 1 with just MDI and a bigger one that says Montana Design Innovations. I want the logo to represent Montana, whether though the shape itself or the rustic feel. I am ok with some color, but would like it to look good in black and white as well. This is an engineering company so there should be a feeling of mechanical gears built into the style with still having that rustic feeling. I like gears, Bull Elk, compass as possible shapes for inspiration. I also like "wings" bars i guess. I will attach some things that I like. Don't over complicate it but not too simple. Technology and nerdy things welcome as well , reference to Star Wars / Star Trek / Gears of War designs etc.
