Brief de Design de Logo

I want to modernize the attached logo for a new IV business. The business is based on using needles to hydrate people getting over a hangover or exhaustive workout. The drip coming out of the upper left corner of the "V" in "IV" symbolizes a drip coming out of a needle. I'd like the upper left to have the edge of a hospital needle. So the left end of the "V" should be different from the right end of the "V." Then on the left end of the "V" a drip should come out like the design attached.

The design attached is a basic concept, but I'd like to modernize it and make it look as professional as possible.
