Brief de Design 3D

General description :

Voltalis is a French company engaged in the energy transition. We provide a innovate solution that allows to reduce and manage electrical consumption in the households. To manage the consumption and provide this service, we transform residential and commercial building in smart building using IoT devices.

Voltalis is developing a new range of product with our customers' needs in mind. To improve installation, Voltalis would like to design a “Double function power plug” which allows supply Voltalis’ product without condemned the plug. The plug of the power cord must include a socket (see "Double_function_power_plug_Voltalis.png").

Products in the marketplace are not adapted to our solution (see "example_1.png" and "example_2.png):

Cable exit is always downward pointed.
Design is not aesthetic and discreet.
Cable of the power cord cannot be replaced.

The goal is to design an aesthetic design, looking upward pointed.

Required functionalities:

Double function plug (Plug & socket are grounded / Type E)
Power cord can be replaced. Product can be opened (example: trap door) to access to cable connector.
Cable exit must be upward pointed (or ensure an aesthetic solution to upward pointed)
To ensure an aesthetic and discreet installation, and internal rail must be added. This rail allows to orient the cable downward if required.

Plug/socket description:

The Type E electrical plug has two 4.8 mm round pins spaced 19 mm apart and a hole for the socket's male earthing pin.
