Brief de Design de Logo
I need an updated logo for an expanding building business. Our current logo has a mountain background, which fit the ski resort area that most of our business was in for a number of years. Although we have a significant amount of projects in the mountain regions of Virginia, we have expanded into several other adjacent counties and cities.
I would like to abbreviate the company name from Hatter and Sons, Incorporated to HandS Inc. (Abbreviation for H and S Incorporated). I like our tagline of "A brotherhood of craftsmen" and would like to keep that if possible. Clients always comment on how much they like the slogan.
I've attached our current logo (which I really like, but feel it's dated).
I like the idea of using an image of hands in the logo. I also like the image of mountain as well (fits our area and shows strength). An architectural feature may have a nice feel as well.
The logo should be easily placed on company shirts, hats, coats as well as work trucks/vans.
I'm not a fan of the logos with script writing or letters only.
Update: I am open to other creative designs that do not incorporate mountains or hands in the logo.
Update: Staff would like to see more designs incorporating the use of a saw blade, and/or timbers/logs, and/or hands using tools. Thank you.

Although we liked the idea of using the hands in the logo, after seeing some of the submitted logos, the hands seem to give either a religious feel or a political flavor; not what we're after. Maybe another route is to run with the 'craftsmen' feel - using mallet and chisels, mortise and tenon, or something of that nature.

Just to clarify what our business does. We are a residential home builder. So we build houses for single families, not skyscrapers or large commercial buildings. We work a lot with timbers, wood, and hand tools. A lot of our customers are in a mountainous area.
