Brief de Design de Logo

I’m looking for a logo for a new contracting/construction company that my partners and I have started. The name of the company is Mettle Contracting. The objective behind the name was to play on the word “Metal” but also the definition of “Mettle” meaning fortitude, character, strength, etc. We will be based in NYC and doing work for government agencies, residential, commercial, and retail clients. This logo will be used on letterheads, e-mail signatures, company merchandise and safety equipment (i.e. hard hats) as well as any and all marketing efforts/campaigns. We’d like for the logo to encompass elements of the name itself, the city of New York, and construction equipment/tools while also being simple, elegant and contemporary. We’re also interested in seeing what the artist/designer can come up with, without our influence. Free artistic reign so to speak. I do have a preference for the bluish/gray color way in one of the attached pictures so if that color way can be used in at least one concept that would be nice.
