I need a logo design for a fund titled "Maine Literacy Fund" that awards grants. The fund's mission is to support literacy programs in the state of Maine.
The primary grant that the fund supports is a program designed "to bring authors to visit prek - 12 schools to share writing processes, story development and research experiences, while inspiring students to read, write and/or illustrate". Some other nonprofits that have received grants through the Maine Literacy Fund have been: literacy volunteer groups, youth reading and writing programs, and literacy festivals.
*The words "Maine Literacy Fund" should be on the logo.
*It would be great if the logo has only a few colors and could translate easily into a black and white design.
*Some images I have considered have been people reading or a person reading to a group of children. Books could also be considered in the design. Image ideas should promote and communicate literacy and reading.
Since the School Author Visit Grant is the primary front facing grant program, the logo will be used on the website that promotes this program and also on any future accompanying materials. This is where the logo will likely be used the most.
The link to the current author visit grant program website is: maineliteracyfund.org.
