Brief de Design de Logo

This is a logo for a new business called Alternative Investment Portal, which will be the link / gateway to 100s of services and businesses.
We are after a modern simple look, similar to the Brodie Consulting Group logo (see attachment), with whom we have a close relationship. The Brodie square was modelled on Adobe, which we really like.
We require our logo to subtly incorporate AIP, with Alternative Investment Portal text next to it - even without the text, the logo should be strongly identifiable.
Alternative and Investment are the two most essential words in the text, while Portal is less important but still needs to be in the name (see attachment to illustrate this).
For the text font, the initial thinking is Sofia Pro, but we are open to suggestions. Certainly nothing classic/ serif - it is all about strong modern.
For colours, while we like the Brodie red, we also like bold Orange (the background on the website will be very dark almost black, so good to stand out), but also open to other ideas on this front.
