Brief de Design Graphique
We need a design for a full-sized movie poster, to be printed 27"x40" (standard movie poster size) and used online.
The movie is for an independent feature called FLUORESCENT BEAST. The genre is surreal black comedy (with a dark mystery edge) - Story is about a middle-management guy working for a large corporation. He's summoned by a shadowy executive and sent on a secret business trip - so secret, they won't even tell him what they want him to do, and following cryptic clues he must uncover the true nature of his mission. The movie is a comedic commentary on the pressures of adults in the modern world, and how it can crush your dreams and individuality. Key inspirations for this film are the movies AFTER HOURS, BARTON FINK and ERASERHEAD.
There are no big stars in the movie so we shouldn't rely on their faces to sell it - we need to go more conceptual with the design. WE ARE OPEN TO ANY IDEAS. Our producers did come up with a few concepts, so if those inspire you, feel free to run with them (but we are also open to your ideas!) I've attached a few mockups for these potential ideas - 1) the main character looking down an endless hallway, maybe we see a silhouette of a "beast" in the fluorescent lighting (there is no actual beast in the movie, so this would be metaphorical); 2) The main character handcuffed to a desk, a fluorescent light above him; 3) The main character with a fluorescent bulb head. 4) A long line of business people marching into a building made from a giant fluorescent bulb (there's no sketch provided for this one).
Please don't feel you need to try those - WE ARE OPEN TO YOUR IDEAS. If one inspires you, great - otherwise, please feel free to do something different!
I've also attached some stills from the movie for inspiration and so you can see what the main character looks like. (Note he has on business casual attire and not a suit).
Additionally, we have a main title design you can use if you want. The font is Bebas. I've included a motion version of it. Feel free to use this main title, enhance it or make one of your own.
Lastly, please incorporate our billing block in the design. I've mocked this up and included as a photoshop file. Please feel free to reformat, rearrange, change the font - whatever you want if it fits the design.
Again, we are open to any cool ideas.
