For the icons, they do not need to fit into a small circle - they can be larger and fit into a rectangle as necessary. They also don't need to be too compact - would like enough detail so that there can be females. Also, if there was something 'consistent' with each icon - something that makes them unique to all of the others, and yet makes viewers know that they are all either the same guy or gal in the image.
